A few special words from us

Wooden blocks must be the most classic open-ended toy around! In fact, you probably remember playing with them for hours upon hours yourself as a child. The benefits of building with blocks include enhancing spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, maths, engineering & geometry, to name a few. Your baby will discover unlimited ways of using blocks all on their own, but you can also give them some new ideas.

Age: 12 months +

Benefit: Spatial Awareness & Fine Motor Skills

Activity: At around 12 to 13 months your baby will become quite interested in 'posting' objects. Fold in the top flaps of a large cardboard box and turn it upside down. Cut several different sized and shaped holes on the top and sides and show your baby how to push the blocks through the holes. Ask them "where did the blocks go?" before lifting up the box to show them where they are!
